Club Coaches Participate in Training Workshop

06/26/2025

On Tuesday 24th June, the coaching staff of Acers Tennis Academy came together for a powerful and inspiring workshop centered around coaching and discipleship, guided by the principles of the Logos. The session, which blended professional development with spiritual enrichment, offered coaches a unique opportunity to reflect, engage, and grow in both their personal faith and coaching philosophies.

The workshop was highly interactive and thought-provoking, sparking meaningful conversations about how values such as discipline, integrity, humility, and service can be modeled on the court. Coaches were encouraged to see their roles not just as trainers of athletes, but as mentors shaping young lives through example and truth.

One of the most uplifting aspects of the day was the full attendance of Acers coaches (Head Coach Scyla Murray, Assistant Coaches- Ajaunie Scott, Ronaldo St Juste and Iyana Paul and fitenss coach Phillisia Joseph), a testament to the team's commitment to excellence and growth. The collective energy and unity in the room created an environment that was not only educational but also filled with joy and spiritual connection.

"This was more than a workshop," said one of the attendees. "It was a reminder of why we do what we do, and how we can do it better, with purpose."

The session included group discussions, Scripture reflections, and practical applications of how discipleship can be integrated into daily coaching routines. Coaches left feeling empowered, equipped, and excited to bring these principles into their sessions with athletes.

As Acers continues to lead in both player development and character formation, this workshop stands as an important step in strengthening the foundation of mentorship and faith. Moving forward, the team hopes to see more intentional discipleship take root on the courts, not just through words, but through action.

Stay tuned for more insights and initiatives as Acers Tennis Academy continues to pursue excellence, both in sport and spirit.
